my bf is coming over soon - am so excited to spend a night with him and just him - and a night where i'm feeling halfway like myself again, nonetheless. i'm glad i went to the shop today - the guys (and gals) at the shop really cheered me up today after finding out that i will soon be losing my health insurance and don't qualify for medicaid/medicare and my taxes are all sorts of fucked up but those wonderful people managed to put a smile on my face anyway. bless those silly people at freaks on 39th and what?
am going to the lake of the ozarks this weekend for a little fun in the sun (with strong sunscreen of course!) and maybe the jetskis and boats. my dad owns a house down there on the lake and some toys (also known to most people as boats of varying sizes). yeah, my dad's a successful surgeon. needless to say, he and his conservative views clash with me and my liberal tattoed and screwed views. we don't have a very sturdy relationship and this weekend i'm going to tell him about my apprenticeship, so all hell may break loose at the lake house. hopefully not, but i'm prepared for the worst. other than that (which i'll wait till the last to do) it should be a fun, relaxing weekend. and i need one of those. brian is coming down with me, too, so the three hour car ride won't be so bad, either.
i'll be working at freaks on 39th tomorrow and friday and then next week comes my reality check and it's off to find another real job where i make money. target is hiring in my neck of the woods, so i'll start there. and i guess i could try to go to the dillard's up north but i really don't want to. but if i have to, i will.
thank you all for the comments on my poem - feel free to leave more - they've been really helpful. i love poetry and have been writing since i was little and have been published in school lit. mags. and won some city-wide poetry contest two years in a row in high school. i'd had writer's block for five long months but it feels like it wants to come back in spurts. someday i want to get a book of my poetry published, but that may just be a pipe dream - who knows though? i have lots of dreams - is that good - i think so
