Geez, I have seen these jerks all over the internet of late, and I'm getting sick of it.

Stages of an internet debate:

Stage one: The Superiority Complex-

Ah, silly mortal, you hold an opinion differing from mine. Poor misguided soul, allow me to dazzle you with my superior intellect and reasoning skills...

Stage two: Condescension-

Oh, you have mounted a counter argument despite my amazing brainpower. Now I will smirk and insult your intelligence until you are properly intimidated...

Stage three: Dissimilation-

Oh, crap, your argument is every bit as well-thought out as mine... um... uh... you misunderstood me! Here, let me explain how you are misinformed/overreacting

and finally...

Stage four: Playing the Victim-

Everyone is attacking me! Nobody understands me! I'm going to go hide in a corner and write a blog about how awful people are to me. >cries<


Oh, for the love of god... The internet is a big place. Somewhere, sometime, no matter how smart you are, you will encounter someone more intelligent than you who can express themselves more effectively. At that point, if you can't stand the heat, get off the keyboard!!
