6 blessed days off. I also took a long weekend for the 4th of July. Evidently, the other gal on third shift at work is whining about not having any holidays off so far this year, and I was inclined to tell her that that was what the first year was generally like. You don't have seniority, and you don't have vacation time, and you work when the hell you're scheduled. I did it, it's called paying your dues. The 4th of July was the only holiday I actually requested off... the others were just the way the schedule fell. My boss has also informed me that the new schedule where I don't have to put two weeks of work in just a little over a week isn't working for this lady because of her other jobs. Strangely enough, I get the considerably tougher portion of this deal- eight ten hour shifts in eight days. It exhausts me and shreds my body to the point that I came to my boss and told her that it was killing me off, and I was in so much pain I was going to have to seek medical attention for it. But I have to go back on this schedule to accomadate her- someone who has maybe 1/6th of my seniority. Don't get me wrong, the woman is trying to keep her house, and I feel for her, but I don't see why I have to suffer because of her decision to work additional jobs. I'm getting progressively more pissed off with this situation.
I went to Drag Me To Hell with my brother and his girlfriend last night, and my brother stayed over at our place last night. There were thrills and chills a-plenty in the movie, but it was pretty predictable. One of my favorite touches was the attack handkercheif! That just cracked me up. It is a wonderful thing to see how my boyfriend and brother get along- they were talking cars for hours last night... and almost completely ignoring me!
I still need to get my Dad something for Father's Day. Talk about last minute. I haven't seen him since his birthday party at the end of May because I've been working so much. I feel bad, though. I don't see him nearly as often as I want to. That pretty much goes for most of my family

Sorry your work schedule is so rough. I don't know what to suggest, since you've already told your boss.
I'm doing okay. The first few days after Tigger died, I was kind of in a state of shock. I'm doing better now, but I still find that when I hear a noise, I look up to see if it's her. Things like that. She used to always run to the door to greet me, so it's weird coming home to nothing.
