Week at work - it was hell. So freaking busy and for nothing. I hate that feeling. Working for the sake of working. And sometimes I step back and look at my team mates and think - have you ever worked outside the Govt safety net and know what the real world is like? It really shits me sometime how people really get used to and take advantage of these douche jobs...
But in good news on the Friday lunch at Cheers I ran into none other - Rocketeer - we had our moments of weirdness of 'hey you're at work we don't see each other in this environment' but I have to say ladies... mr Rocketeer looks pretty cute in the business shirt! It's amazing how much more depth you can gain from seeing something as slight as that.
So we plan on going to the Normanby tomorrow. I plan on driving and no drinking so I'm making up for it by having lonely wine drinking in front of my mac. I've been struggling real bad with the windows only formats/software crap that goes on and I'm so used to using windows commands.. But I have friends with the teaching - so it's all good. Anyone leave hints here for easy mac use. I'd greatly appreciate.
My latest obsession is burning mp3 cds for car trips. I really got to drive more and listen to some tunes. Does anyone just love songs? Like I couldn't imagine life without songs. Albums, cds & all that over industry/scene shite you could go on without but that song you listen to over and over again I'd just die without.
At the moment Ice Cream - Hardons is repeating over and over in my head. How many times have you seen the Hardons?? I've seen them thrice. Been around since forever but they really master the song.
So after my run in with young Judson - he appears on the front of Timeoff. Always the way ain't it? Where is the third encounter? Actually I don't really mind so much anymore or even think so much about it. There was a time where I held real emotion about it - hell I was 17 - you just got to let that shit go. So why still write about it? I guess because so many of my friends & husband knew about it and knew what an issue of heart it was to me back then... so then this is my release world. I guess it's just funny because his old neighbours and then friends are my good and visiting friends - and the momeries just flood back when they come storming in with the paper and a laugh of guess who's on the cover!!!!. Maybe a time I'll never get to grow out of???
Got the special street art juxtapoz. god I love this magazine. although I find it conflicts with another favourite - adbusters. it seems nike gets it's fair space in juxtapoz. but then again i know artists - to eat - you don't really care where the money comes from. but I know adbusters would disagree.
I was thinking - what is my favourite classic car - and I have no idea. When we were living in Michigan we'd drive past this beautiful done up gun metal grey classic - but I have no idea what she was. I think she was only selling for like $2000 or something small like that. I think when we head back I'll pick up a classic car in MI. But I really like the colour - even though I don't really like guns - the colour of the car was just gorgeous. Boys/girls do you know what I mean or does colour really not matter at all???
so Andy and I totally forgot our 2 year anniversary on the 25th. Pretty funny. But it's pretty amazing we've got here and still going so far. Especially for a relationship met in millitary conditions! I think maybe one day we'll get married again (by Elvis in Vegas - my dream!) but until then we'll make do with forgetting our anniversary!! It's hard we know where's supposed to care about that stuff - like Andy doesn't wear a ring - I barely remember to wear my engagement ring - which is no diamond - not that I'd freaking want a diamond - but it's hard.... when you're real about something and you don't fit the standard. Can anyone empathise?
It's so freaking cold and 1.15am - wow haven't stayed up this late for a long time. Think I might go and watch rage in bed. Good night everyone hope you're all sleeping soundly!
