Ah, management. That explains it! Sometimes I wish I had a salaried job, other times, not so much....I'm totally unstimulated in manufacturing, which is why I hate working overtime, even though I'm paid for it. Back when I used to work as an office manager for a lawyer, I used to work crazy hours because I wanted to, I loved that job so much. I came in early and stayed late a lot of days, and always came in at least one day of the weekend or sometimes both.

My old boss always begged me not to work over 40 hours because he couldn't afford to pay me for it, but I was absolutely adamant that the work had to be done on time (I had a shattered wrist that really slowed me down - I had external hardware drilled into the bones of my wrist that was basically holding it together), and besides, I loved doing it. It was one of the best jobs I've ever had. I actually didn't mind working extra for free.

So for me, it depends totally on the job. I job I like, I'll happily spend 50-60 hours a week doing it with no complaints. A job I don't like...I want as little to do with as possible.

Do you like your job? I know people can be hard to deal with. (That was another great thing about the lawyer job. I was an office manager even though I was the only one in the office. My boss spent all day in court, so I was in the office by myself every day all day...which I loved.)
