OMG........for the first time in weeks and weeks and weeks I was able to get out of work early. I don't know how to act.
For those of you who don't realize the importance of this......I work an average of at least 46 hours a week and only get paid for 40. So every littel piece of my time I can get I value

My old boss always begged me not to work over 40 hours because he couldn't afford to pay me for it, but I was absolutely adamant that the work had to be done on time (I had a shattered wrist that really slowed me down - I had external hardware drilled into the bones of my wrist that was basically holding it together), and besides, I loved doing it. It was one of the best jobs I've ever had. I actually didn't mind working extra for free.
So for me, it depends totally on the job. I job I like, I'll happily spend 50-60 hours a week doing it with no complaints. A job I don't like...I want as little to do with as possible.
Do you like your job? I know people can be hard to deal with. (That was another great thing about the lawyer job. I was an office manager even though I was the only one in the office. My boss spent all day in court, so I was in the office by myself every day all day...which I loved.)
