Fell asleep on Prince of Persia on the couch with Luvamoose, something to behold as nature made niether of us what you would call petite creatures. I haven't had a lot of time to spend with my dog this week, it was mostly work and sleep, and until we both conked out, she was soaking up the attention.
Watched both of the Swedish Lisbeth Salander films this week. Why on Earth are they remaking these movies in Hollywood? If Americans are too lazy or too stupid to read subtitles then they don't deserve to enjoy the film. Here's an idea, if you don't love subtitles, READ THE BOOKS. Also, these stories are so...Swedish. It would be like the Swedish film industry remaking Field of Dreams into Fjord of Dreams. Even in this age of mercenary corporate monoculture some art still has national, dare I say ethnic flavor? I think that is awesome and should be celebrated and uplifted not thrown aside because the same folks who green light the morass that is American Cinema today say it can't be sold main street USA.
How many movies did you connect with last year? enjoyed? Discussed with someone? Feel were worth the price of admission, download or rental? contained characters you cared about or would want to know in real life? You see, America, they have these movies all around the world but they're too sophisticated for you. Don't worry though, the hollywood machine will cherrypick the best ones, simplify them and serve them up to you in a fast-food, guns blazin, tits-fallin out, non-witty reparte' extravaganza.

My favorite film I saw last year would have to be Beautiful Losers...
