My weekend was pretty sucky.
First off.. the temp gauge was acting up on my car. I had to stop and get some antifreeze a little north of indy to put in my car, cause the coolant resevoir was bone dry. It gets better worse! I thought i had fixed the problem, but it wasn't so simple.. at all. I get a little south of South Bend and my gauge starts going up again so I check the resevoir again and it's full, so now I'm confused and scared. My car manages to make it home and I don't find out what the problem really is until I took it in for a check up at a mechanic in Middlebury. I had a bad radiator. The mechanic showed it to me and there was a big corroded hole in it about the size of my head. I have no idea how it got there, but I had to pay for a new one to be installed. $341. That's basically most of my last paycheck. At least that's fixed and I'm so lucky my car didn't die on me on teh highway, cause I don't have a cell phone and I'd be screwed. I also had to call in late for work tonight cause I wasn't able to leave from home until about 1:30pm. I ran into annoying traffic and crashes all along the way + thunderstorms, which weren't bad, but I was in no mood to enjoy them. I also had a headache.
The good news is, that all that is over. I still have enough money to get me through to the next paycheck.
Aside from my car problems the weekend was pretty good. I got to visit my friend Mandy (Hootch) and smoke her hookah. I'd never smoked a hookah before so I was pretty excited, and Hootchie bashed in my hookah cherry with great gusto. The actual smoking is awesome cause it's so smooth it's like breathing in air. I didn't cough once. She had strawberry flavored tobacco and it's this molasses-like texture. It was a great experience.
She's also sharing this awesome apartment in Middlebury with Brad Robinson and she's got an awesome front porch that looks out on to the street. So we sat on her porch smoking her hook watching the sun go down, welcoming evening, and hearing buggys go by in the distance. Most excellent.
So, there was some really good moments in the weekend, but some really shitty ones too. I'm just glad to be back and not stranded somewhere along SR 31.
