Bought Fatal Frame III: The Tormented the other day.
I haven't played it much yet, but I know it ties in the storylines from the previous two games with the storyline in this one. So far it's been excellent. I just ran into Miku Hinasaki from Fatal Frame 1.
Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly was so beautiful and well done, it's pretty much a masterpiece. The story was so well written and emotive that it made me cry at the end.. which is damn hard to do.
The first Fatal Frame, which isn't even sold anymore cause of limited printing, just scared me shitless and also contained a great story.
Awesomeness.
The clerk at the Gamestop was even more persistant than the one at the EB the other week. It took her like 10 minutes to ring up the 3 dvds and 1 game that I had bought BECAUSE SHE WOULDN'T STOP TRYING TO SELL ME STUFF. She asked if I wanted to pre-order anything, which is par for the course, I said "No, thank you." Then she tried to sell me on pre-ordering: Kingdom Hearts 2 ("I thought Kingdom Hearts 1 was absolute shit."), Final Fantasy XII ("Nah, XI wasn't that great."), the new Final Fantasy VII spinoff.. and then finally the new Onimusha game, even though she said Onimushuu, I knew what she meant. She was about to try and sell me even more stuff when I was just like.. "Stop, I'm not an idiot, if I wanted to pre-order a game I'd have told you so already." She was like this ditzy, bubbly little blonde too, so that made it a little more annoying. She was then like, "Okay.. let me get your movies for you then!"
When she was trying to sell me Final Fantasy games, I really should have told her that Squarenix has turned over the series to a group of people whose pre-pubescent fumblings have totally ruined a legendary RPG franchise, but she wouldn't have cared at all. If it didn't involve selling me games, she just didn't give a shit. I guess I can understand that, but I really didn't like it when she acted like I wasn't there when I told her "No, thank you." after she asked me if I'd like to pre-order anything. At least I didn't tell her to cram the chatter up her ass.
Maybe I should just start buying my games direct from the companies themselves online. At least then they won't haggle me into pre-ordering the new Kingdom Hearts 2, or whatever the new game that's coming out is.
