I like Christmas. I just wish it wasn't so whored out. I wish we'd treat it more like the Japanese do and just gather 'round with a few friends and family and a few buckets of KFC. (It's true!)
I don't usually shop until I'm at my parent's house a few days before Christmas actually is. Then, on Christmas Eve I go to church with my parents as kind of a Christmas gift to them. I stopped going to church once I entered college cause my parents could no longer make me cause I didn't live under their roof anymore.
That was such a relief.
I don't quite know what I'll be doing next year. I've got a lease here in Bloomington until next July. After that, if I'm lucky, I'll be in Japan making $32k a year for a few years assisting in teaching English to elementary and high schoolers. If I'm not lucky, hopefully I'll have saved enough to move somewhere. I'm thinking, Madison, Boston, Seattle, maybe Chicago. I don't really know. I'll have to job hunt and see what a college grad can get these days..
