This morning I got a really nice compliment from one of the higher-ups about how I handled a situation with him and clients last week.
What a great way to start this new full-time position.
Also I have zero pressing projects right now. Well, I might have one... but I haven't heard anything about it since early last week. But it's a great load off my mind, as I have many non-work related things going on in my brains. I can't remember the last Monday that I wasn't drowning in work.
This weekend was great. After getting my car inspected (the Ultra Camry ("Cam-a-ray" said the inspector) lives on!) Ember and I spent most of the day just driving around my [old] area in NJ. We also spent some time at Colonial Park, which was nice, but the paddle boats seemed to be closed for the season.
While sitting by one of the playgrounds, we realized we were the only people there not with kids. Weird.
We also spent some time with my aunt and uncle, and then that night headed over my brother's and Enid's for a going away party for a friend. Aside from a brief anti-social time, we both had fun.
I'm sorry that Mark and I beat you at beer pong. But not really.
And Sunday was all about Ginker Media work. If the lack of mandatory overtime at my 9-5 continues, maybe I can get some more web-work going on. Which is a nice change of pace. Even if Mark can be a dick sometimes. (Hey 1-2-3 Music Store, why the hell haven't you finished processing our order yet?!)
I miss working on the Internets. As much as I love working in After Effects, it's nice to switch brains and jump back into the coding world from time to time.
The fat cat threw up last night and then crapped on the carpet while Ember and I were awake and getting ready for work/internship. Highly unusual. As much as it sucks, thank god he doesn't do it every single day any more.
Anyway. I have to finish making my last freelance invoice so I can still get paid this week. Then on to doing some computer housekeeping. I've got 287 of 690 GB free, which is okay, but most of it is finish projects that need to be backed up. Also there are rumors of me getting a larger and faster raid. Working in HD is hard work.
