Why aren't there any goddamn parking spaces?
My apartment complex has limited free parking, that's on a first come, first serve basis (as long as you have your sticker). Saturday night I got city street parking that's right alongside my apartment, but is limited to two hours on Monday through Saturday from 10 am - 6 pm.
All day Sunday only a small handful of spaces opened up, that were immediately taken. The rain and some sort of event on the Parkway definitely had some sort of negative effect on parking here.
This morning I woke up a little bit earlier so I had time to move my car and still catch my bus. I saw one open spot while I was doing my morning stuffs. And once I was ready to head out, I peeked outside to see that the spot was gone.
I am perfectly willing to wait an extra hour and be late to work. I refuse to park in a parking garage (especially the one next to Whole Foods; every time I went there the machines wouldn't let me leave).
I would be on the elevator going to catch my bus right now. Sigh.
Ember stepped on Midna's (the kitten) head last night. She's been acting weird ever since. She hid underneath the dresser after the incident, but came out a few minutes later when I coaxed her with some food. In the mornings, she usually does circles around my feet, but today she just watches me do my thing. I hope she's okay. She (and Madison, the fat cat) are getting over some conjunctivitis (a cat eye infection, and goop comes out of their eye(s)), and Madison has been ignoring the litter box and pooping on the floor three times in the last week. These cats need to be normal again!
I see a parking spot! I hope it stays free by the time I get there!!
Update: There was not one, but two spots available. Incredible. But it's a crappy rainy and humid day. Someone should have made some cookies or cupcakes and left them in the break room/hallway corner.
Update 2: Little kitty slept most of the day. This morning she was running around causing chaos like she usually does, so I guess that means she's better.
And the fat cat is still fat.
