My workspace at work is getting very complicated. When I come in the the morning, I take off my jacket, set down my laptop bag, take out the MBP and the power brick, plug it in to one of the three power strips on my desk (all are barely used), plug in the power, plug in the external monitor, plug in ethernet cable (only 100 Mbps, I wish they'd hook me up with a gigabit already), unplug my iPod headphones from my iPod and into the MBP, and plug in the Wacom table (which I just installed today even though I've had it sitting here unused the entire time).
One day I should take a picture of my section of this giant [shared] countertop that serves as my [and another animator's] desk.
Also on the desk is:
One day I should take a picture of my section of this giant [shared] countertop that serves as my [and another animator's] desk.
Also on the desk is:
- Another identical 19" monitor which is hooked up to the PC.
- A pair of speakers, which I only use when no one else is here.
- The PC's keyboard
- The useless tablet mouse
- A Mackie board that is hooked up to nothing.
- A Blackmagic DeckLink box. I don't know it's proper name, but if I had an NTSC monitor, I would probably learn it.
- And the useless PC which sits under the desk.
It's a bit of a mess here, but so far it's working out well. I just wish there was a way to use the Blackmagic with my MBP. Or maybe there is, I haven't looked into it, I'm just assuming there's a specialized expansion card in the PC that connects the PC to the BM. If I had the BM then I should get an NTSC monitor and I could be hooked up to master control so I could output to tape.
Well, it's passed 5, I'm sick of this damn background and I'm going home.
