Previously (too lazy to link to the entry) I mentioned something about how every Scott I know is musically-inclined. I had said that Scott the video editor in this room I work in seemed like he was because he knew one of the obscure bands that I listen to (dredg, and today I heard some Smashing Pumpkins). But I wasn't convinced since he was a video editor...
But today I know for sure. Right now Scott the editor and Matt the other graphics guy are in a music discussion. It started by Matt asking what Scott's thought on Kurt Cobain were. Apparently Matt does not agree with the "big deal" that Nirvana became for his generation (he is Generation X).
I'm trying to butt into the conversation, but this is just outside my age bracket.
Oh, Scott just revealed the secret: His wife is a big music person (And Scott graduated in '88, so he's at least 30). They've been talking about Nirvana (with a brief foray into Michael Jackson) for at least twenty minutes now. Maybe longer. I think there was some Woodstock thrown in there as well.
Now they're talking about how Kurt killing himself has given the band its legendary status. If he hadn't, the fourth Nirvana album probably would have sucked and they would become forgotten. Interesting theories.
Dammit. Tony just called, he says he's throwing a mini dinner party tonight. Too bad I don't live in Philadelphia anymore. I haven't eaten all day. Aside from half a brownie this morning, a small glass of iced tea, and a Dunkin Donuts coffee. But no real meals. I should have bought a scale while I was at Target this weekend buying clothes and a fake closet.
