Today I was at the grocery store standing in line, when I overheard a litle girl say to her mom "ew mommy look, that's gross, they're going to hell", the little girl was pointing at a lesbian couple holding hands. The mom's response was just as hateful "Yes they are baby, you need to stay away from them". TRUE STORY. I am aware that not everyone has the same point of view, but to teach little kids how to hate and judge...its disgusting. I have two sisters that are gay. They are the most amazing people you can come across, they are hard working and have the biggest hearts you can imagine. But if a little girl saw them with their significant other, they would be monsters. It breaks my heart. Even I get that (with all of my tattoos) but yeah, I just smile, because my mother taught me what the word respect means. I wish parents taught their kids that.

And I couldn't agree more. The fundamental concept of respect and tolerance is a ideal commonly overlooked in the teachings of parents. :/
