It's been a strange week. EdTheRipper and I finished Christmas shopping, finally. We're still rocking with a couple hundred dollars left after bills and groceries as well. Score. Oh, and the 72 dollars I spent on cookie-baking supplies today. I can't wait for Christmas to be here so I don't have to keep preparing.
The Satyricon tour was cancelled, so my interview with Final Drive was pushed back until next month. The guy I've talked to on the phone, Monster, is so fucking nice. I'm really looking forward to meeting them. Sicks Deep showed up in town anyway, and I managed to go home, buy batteries for my tape recorder, and make it down to Reading Terminal Market to meet them in less than an hour. They (and their entire entourage) all seemed like very cool people, everyone was all easygoing and nice. They even invited me out to an "afterparty" (although there was nothing before it), but I got lost and went home. I'll probably go to one of their shows soon, just to buy a ticket and show some support. The tape is hilarious, I'll probably hang onto it for the sheer comic value once I submit the interview. Look for it soon, I think it turned out well. And I got free Sicks Deep stuff out of it, that my 15-year-old brother thinks is the coolest fucking thing ever. *cheesey suburban devil horns*
Things have been going really well, I think I'm finally coming into my own in regards to balancing my responsible mommy life with the small part of me that still wants to be a kid and go to shows and sleep late. Mommy life usually wins, but I'm starting to feel better about indulging my side that is still only 22. And the husband and I have been geting along great, after last weekend's battle of wills (and elbows).
