The good news is that the van is now running a little better. The bad news is that I tried to park a little too close to a telephone pole and my enormous rear view mirror didn't have enough sense to just gracefully break off. Instead it tore a hole in part of the door and put a nice big dent in another part of the door. I wouldn't really care at all except for the fact that I can't roll that window down any more. I guess I have to pull the lining out of the door and pound on it with a hammer. Yay, another several hours of working on the van. That van has it out for me.
I'm still in a good mood though. I got to go out on a research boat with a somewhat famous (famous among people that are totally into squid... you know, dorks) cephalopod biologist. I'm gonna go on the boat again tomorrow afternoon and bug the guy some more too. They're using side scan sonar to estimate egg quantities. Squid are fucking rad... even market squid.
