I passed the swimming portion of my divemaster training this morning. Yay. I was a bit worried about that seeing as how I'm not the fastest swimmer around by quite a bit. NAUI is a bit more hardcore about the swimming requirements for this certification than some other organizations.
Then I went and helped a bunch of people with spinal cord injuries go sailing. I spent most of the time lifting people in and out of a little 16 foot long sail boat and carting a bunch of wheelchairs all over the harbor. Most of these folks get around pretty well and lead fairly decent lives... it still makes me extremely fucking glad that I didn't have to stay in a wheel chair. I sure do like being able to move my legs.
