hi. my name is rachel. i am a huge ball of stress.
the most dramatic of the several stressful events of my last few days was the flood. three inches of rain fell yesterday in less than an hour. i lived at the bottom of a hill, on the top of which is a huge construction site. when debris blcoked the drains, muddy, smelly, (and possibly asbestos-contaminated) water flooded into our common room and under the doors into our bedrooms. clothes, computers, and all sorts of other things damaged by the inch or two of standing water. we were given a few hours to pack all our possessions and move across campus for an indeterminate amount of time.
even for losing yesterday and today to moving and administrative stuff, and even for being as jittery as i am, i'm not too far behind on my work. and the more times i tell the story, the calmer i get. so thanks for listening - i'll go back to my hardy-weinberg problem set now.
