Isn't it amazing how much your job situation affects your life, in terms of general happiness? I suppose I should be thankful that I have a decent job - one that pays a living wage and comes with some (minimal) benefits. Things could certainly be a lot worse (hey, I have done time as a dishwasher!) But my job is making me miserable and is stressing me out, and that spills over into the rest of my life really badly. It's bad for my relationship, it's bad for my writing, and it's really bad for my mental health. I need a new job, and I feel deeply and badly stuck.
Why couldn't I have been born into the leisure class?
