The power was out till about 7:15 today. The lights came back on while I was in the shower, which scared me because I thought someone was in there. I don't know if the T, my only mode of transportation besides my legs while I'm in Boston, is currently running, but the fact that it's an electric powered subway car would seem to scream that it is now.
I've kind of been totally and utterly alone since Monday, locking myself away in my room and doing unimportant things to kill the time. All the while I've been kind of having the same kind of living dream of some phantasmal presence which I couldn't place until now. All this week I've been in a living dream about a massive zombie infestation and have been acting accordingly. I've got food stores and a decently secured location. My emergency exits aren't a hazard to letting zombies in, either. There are several convenience stores, a CVS, and a Whole Foods Market within a five minute walk so that I could restock on dried, packaged, powdered, or canned goods if need be. There is a hardware store also within a five minute walk so that I could gather some makeshift weapons. There are several locations which I could get to with little or no difficulty which are perfect fortress like buildings. Two are churches, one's a movie theater with several large auditoriums that are easily barricaded and with tools from the hardware store we could make connecting tunnels or passageways, and others are just as big and just as solid from aforementioned zombie attack. There are even plenty of cars which would be left without loving owners which I could use as a safer mode of transportation. Point is, if zombies were attacking, I'd be ready. They aren't though. I'm just a weird college student who's been locked in his room too long without contact from the outside world.
