Sorry for the technobabble, but I have to rant, cos this crap really pissed me off. Anyways, I help to administer a few computers for our college radio station. You'll note that the pasted link is down (or at least was at time of posting), because my school pulled the plug on it. Fucking dipshits.
So we have a number of computers, on -different subnets-, doing different things. A WinXP box in our office got hacked, and was supposedly being used to launch DoS attacks on people, so our school shut down the port for it and yanked it off the internet. And then they decided "Well, just to be safe, lets take ALL their other computers offline, too." This includes my server for the radio station, which is running linux and hasn't been hacked into since I started running it two years ago.
To top it off, the administrators at my school decided to notify us by sending an email to an address that didn't exist to the server that they blocked access to. So obviously, the email bounces, and nobody has any idea why all of the machines are down.
I am very tempted to write them a bitter and sarcastic email, "thanking" for their "help" in "securing" our network. However, I'm already starting to get a reputation amongst the system admins at our school as a troublemaker of sorts, so I think I have to take the boooooring diplomatic route and ask them to kindly unfuck us. Gah, I hate being nice. :/
And now, something that everyone can enjoy:
1. Favorite rap song from the 80's or early 90's?
2. What the hell is fractal looking at in her new board pic?
3. Most annoying sound that you must deal with on a daily basis?
Mine:
1. "Baby got back". Maybe "Hammer Time" as a close second.
2. I think she is looking off into the distance, ready to ride away into the sunset.
3. Telephones ringing. They're almost as bad as the sound of a baby crying (which would have won, in the event that I had to deal with that every day).

I'm working on a debian install and this afternoon I'll be moving someone's mail from one qmail server to another or something like that.
I like this job so far.
That radio station looks pretty cool though.
1. EPMD - It's My Thing, NWA - Fuck the Police, Public Enemy - Fight the Power... there's tons of them. I'm a geezer, so that's my era
2. Uh... She's watching a ship at sea...
3. A loud co-worker
That's a cool pic! I
