Last day in fucking terre haute.... I fly out at 6pm tonight, so lets hope that Continental doesn't try to kill me. Just for the record, NEVER fly fucking ATA. Yes, they are cheap, very cheap. But they -will- fuck you. Last year I had a glorious 8 hour layover in chicago midway, and every other time I've flown them they manage to bungle something up.
Two years ago, when I was flying back, I had to take a connecting flight from chicago to indianapolis.... the flight is on a small, dual engine prop plane that seats maybe 30 people. 20 minutes before the flight takes off, one of the airline people gets on the little microphone thingers and announces:
"ATA passengers... we are sorry to inform you of this, but it appears that connecting flight 1324 to Indianapolis is overloaded, and in the current weather conditions it may experience difficulty in the flight. So we are going to have to ask for two volunteers to give up their seats, and get on the next connecting flight, which leaves 2 hours later. The volunteers will receive one round trip ticket to anywhere in the continental US free of charge."
People in the terminal look around nervously, and whisper amongst themselves. Nobody wants to volunteer, but nobody wants the damn plane to crash, either. Five minutes later, the announcer gets back on the air:
"If nobody volunteers, we are going to take all of the baggage for flight 1324 and put it on the next connecting flight that leaves two hours later."
Immediately, two people jump up and volunteer to give up their seats. This year I figured I'd drop an extra 20$ or whatever and fly on a slightly less incompetent airline that won't threaten to screw everyone's bags.
Ok, cos I'm bored, and waiting for a class to start (fucking tests), here's some questions:
1. What type of music did you like in middle school?
2. Have you ever dated someone of another ethnicity?
3. Have you ever met someone in real life that you met on the internet first?
Mine:
1. Horrible old school metal crap. Like metallica and shit. In 8th grade I discovered Nirvana though, so that was a plus.
2. Yes... she was Korean.
3. Yes, 2 people from an IRC network, and 1 SG member (Shalome!) =)
