I found two (well, three, rather) albums that I have been basically listening to on repeat for the last 5 days. If you're on soulseek, definitely score a copy. Or if you wish to support our bloodsucking overlords, I suppose it is theoretically possible to pay for said goods:
- Distillers, "Coral Fang". At first I didn't like this album....every punk bone in by body was screaming at me that the distillers are going to be the next rancid, their music is losing its punch, blah blah blah. Everyone knows that the band just isn't cool anymore when all your friends have heard of them. Anyways, this album is in fact a bit "softer" than their previous shit....a bit closer to rock than punk, but it's still fucking awesome. There is some quality of this album that makes it very catchy and addicting. Oh, and the album art fucknig rules.
- Ulrich Schnauss, 2 albums...."Far Trains Passing By" and "A Strangely Isolated Place". This shit is amazing. It's seriously the happiest music I've ever experienced, for a particular quality that is hard to define. Either way, every time I listen to it, it's like a birthday cake of sunbeams.
Blah. I feel like I'm writing for a "zine". But I'm kind of in a rambling mood, so that's ok. I'm in math class right now, which made it slightly challenging to get to SG without people noticing that something was up (har har, no pun intended). I pretty much scrolled most of the banners down, but when I hit the login page, BAM! Thar be Nala, naked as a hooker leaving utah (no offense intended to Nala, of course...I just really wanted to use that metaphor). Yeah, I don't think that I've ever typed my username and pass so fast in my life.
