IPOD and boring weekend update
So after the trauma caused by having my Ipod stolen, I got a new one. Its refurbished, pretty, bigger and NOW full of Wumpscut Skinny Puppy, Guns and Roses, Kill Hannah, Marilyn Manson and of course Nine Inch Nails. Soon I begin the daunting and time consuming task of organizing my itunes to make sense. It is a mess right now and I want to get it in working order, so I can keep the new Ipod all fresh and clean.
Any suggestions on what software cleans up duplicates, ID tags, and grabs artwork?
This weekend was a self-enforced, non-working weekend. Well I did work on Friday and Sunday night, shit Saturday morning tooSo I guess it was a work weekend.
Friday was filled with work meetings, then off I went to the press screening of the new X Files movie (not great, but I liked it better than my peers), then off to The New Beverly to see director Tom Holland host a screening of Fright Night on the big screen. That movie holds up so well, even if the hair-dos and clothes are really bad. I sat with The Holland family. It was so cute, Kathy Holland (Tom's wife) would lean over to me during the movie and tell me little tidbits about the film, like "That was Tom's car" and "We wanted to keep the vampire hunters kit so badly!". After the film, Tom got onstage with Diablo Cody to talk about the film. He really loves it (so does Diablo, she said it was one of her favorite horror films!).
***On a side note, a while back I heard that Fright Night was being set up for a remake without Tom's involvement. The studio wants to make a Fright Night movie set in a carnival/fairground, with Vampires. That setting would be fine if they cared a little bit about why the original worked so well. Just changing the setting won't do it!
***A word of warning about vampiresIf you happen to be tempted at comic con to see a certain surfin vampire filmdon't waste your time. We have seen it, and you could spend your time doing more entertaining things, like ironing your clothes.
At the ungodly hour of 8:30 am I had to head over to the X files junket in Beverly Hills to interview David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. It went OK but it was a press conference, which really sucks. No personal time just a bunch of people in a room shouting out questions about how the weather was in Vancouver. NEWS FLASH..it was snowing and coldduh!
Later that afternoon was spent shopping all over the city. Got a couple new shirts for the upcoming Comic-Con weekend, then I raced home to get ready and try to make it on time to see Kill Hannah ay the El Rey. I got there, but I didn't get inlong boring story, but it didn't happen, so I drove to The Hyaena Gallery. It was a blast, The kick ass artist "SpineStealer" had an opening and her artwork makes my head spin. It's so amazing! I saw a bunch of friends that I want to see more of.
Today was family stuff, then home to catch up on some work. Over at Bloody Disgusting we are getting prepped to begin an official video web series, I can't talk to much about it nowbut its going to be a blast. The best part is that I am hosting it! I have been gunning for this gig, for about 4 years. It's finally happening! Woohoo
Lastly, I got tickets to see my first opera. I really don't dig opera music, but when David Cronenberg decides he wants to do a live stage version of THE FLY, I wouldn't miss it for the world! Del Howison showed me some of the designs that went into the creation of this thing and it is insanely gross and truly clever! The LA Opera house will never be the same after the horror fans come in.
