Miss Horrorfest announces the winner
By SpookyDan
Last night was a busy night in Hollywood, first the Clive Barker art gallery, and then The After Dark Horrorfest kick off party where the new Miss Horrorfest was crowned. In a circus like style ringleader Courtney Solomon brought out the trapeze artists, burlesque shows and a genuine who's who in horror on the guest list. This was THE party to be at last night! See the pictures and you can get a glimpse of what when down.
The highlight of the night was when Miss Horrorfest for the next year was announced. We here at Bloody were all rooting for Nixon Suicide to be the big winner. We posted blogs about her and did an interview over at BDTV. But when it came down to it Nixon was the runner up meaning she lost and came in second place. Mistress Malice the Texan with giant ..er.. um "lungs" was the proud recipient of the crown. Malice got all teared up, as she won stating that it was the first audition she had ever done. I had spoke to many people at the party about who should actually win, and it seemed no one was disappointed with Malice as the big Winner.
The buzz around the party was all about this weekends 8 Films to Die For. Which one is the best? Which is the worst? The general consensus that I heard was that Borderlands, and Unearthed are the ones not to miss. With Nightmare man is a close third. Nightmare Man had a huge presence last night as well in the buzz department. Director Rolph Kenefski, was at the party just awaiting the next day where his film will finally see a theatrical release and star Tiffany Sheppis defiantly was (as usual) the party queen of the night.
In other news The Butcher Brother were on hand taking a break from the post production their highly anticipated remake of April Fools Day. They were of course tight lipped about the film, and mentioned that it was turning out quite nicely and people are going to be surprised by the film! It's great to see these guys who made a quirky little indie that was shown in last years Horrorfest "The Hamiltons". These guys have come a long way and I for one and very excited to see what they have up their sleeves next.
Many other people were at the party including Ti West, who is getting ready to unroll his next film Cabin Fever 2, the follow up to his film Triggerman,(which incidentally was a hit at this years AFM). Another film in the must see list for 2008!
