Comic-con is coming!
The Con:
Today I am doing the last minute prep for the big show I am getting ready to head out to comic con in San Diego this Wednesday. This year promises to be a huge event like those in the past years, but the biggest change this year will be the sheer amount of interviews I am doing. No real video stuff to speak of, as editing and such takes time, just one on ones with a load of kick ass celebs and then, the all important nighttime parties!. This is where the real fun of comic-con happens, it's the place to meet people and connect in a much more personal way than when you are sandwiched between the hundreds of thousands of people running around the con floor and in the panel rooms.
The look:
I have a slight complaint; I need to have a fashion designer to dress me. Not that I am not capable of throwing together an outfit. I am very capable, but doing these on camera things, I want to look my best and dress the part. The biggest issue is the repeat outfit. I can't just run around in the same clothes at every event. To my great disappointment, Hot Topic only has so many different items to buy. Since about 90% of my wardrobe comes from there, I have to be careful to not re-buy a cool pair of pant that I actually already own. Like I said, it's a slight complaint because it a ridiculous one I'm such a girl.
The smell:
I go to a lot of conventions, horror, VFX, film festivals, but comic con has to be the smelliest of them all. So if you go this year, do me (and yourself) a favor and head over to the local grocery store, or Rite Aid, and BUY SOME SOAP. Thousands of people crammed into one small location, is always a problem, and a little morning clean up can make a world of difference!
See all you freaks there
