Take it for what it is, words by my brother in the Fight for humanity and equal rights
SPOILERS! (Click to view)
They told me I would be suspended when I was 14, for not standing during home room.
In a time before home land security, 9/11, and George W. Bush
but even back then I knew how to read, had been training my eyes to see toe tags peering out of sandals
of body's bagged for lost wages
Estranged by an erratic abuser that always came back later
This country was built on using unpaid labor to erase and redraw lines
So who is really surprised when someone dies?
Unless its white business men in big suites on floor 110
It is the children that will die first
then the poorest and darkest civilians
followed by the most desperate soldiers
and then
the rest
I keep getting tangled in symbols and hues that where made stain proof
to blood, peace and resistance
women and men still hold passports at harbors trying to pass ports laced with immigration officers treating incomers like they harbor terrorists these officers stay insecure about looking like them
only safe in the knowledge that they are better behaved and pacified in there desperation
because there can be
NO FREE PEOPLE ON STOLEN LAND
Only displaced anger, reshaped identity's and replaced shame
all people of color regardless of background learn that to exist in this country is to make a choice
Fight under banners of stars and bars
or
end up bar coded in prison stripes behind bars
and either way its all the same color coded killings placed in alphabetical order
either claim the epithet and share crop your shame
or
wait in line for that crumb of bread and give the overseer your masters name then scratch it in bathroom stalls or anonymous walls in Washington
can't you see yet
there will be no mountains etched with our faces unless we bring the fucking dynamite
there will be no accounts bearing our stories unless we bring the village
there will be no justice unless we bring the guns
try singing that song at the ball game and see how far you get
my hands are already to heavy and wet with tears and blood to hide my heart
so this is my anthem cry
scarred by crushing bones, shattered teeth in mouths suffocating and the answer is no
I will never salute that symbol of your victory over me
never stand and sing towards that genocide silhouette
honor that holocaust eyelid
savor that slavery celebration
smile that colonialist smirk
or wear that white supremacist bandwagon bandanna, red white and blue bullshit banner
Because I've reached my decision
and if I must which I will I will punch daggers into your hatred and kill the silence
and if I must which I will I will burn banners in text and destroy to rebuild
and if I must which I will I will spark blazes in government buildings load rifles across government doors
and bring down skyscrapers with my words
and if I must which I will I will speak words so powerful they need to bring me down I will scream your whispers, sing your lies, write your echoes, stare your eyes, resurrect countless generations of quietly lost lives and burn down this fucking fake american flag thats more real in its hypocrisies then anything I have ever known.
and sift through the ashes to repaint this country as it should be
with the blood of ever bomb, every test, push, glance, shot, yell, word and silence.
