So I'm supposed to be in Yonkers today at 9am to report to some shit ass job. My best friend John (who recently returned home from duty in Iraq) pushed me into it. Turns out I get the news tonight its a shitty $8 an hour and a 30+ minute drive. I feel like the only reason I agreed was because John insisted. How can you turn down someone who put their ass on the line for 13 months? So far I've decided that I will show up there and insist on benefits and more money considering I have more knowledge and education than that whole place combined. If I can't work something out then I'll just walk off and give them more time to find some kid thats more fitting to the position. It may sound snobby but I'd rather work from home doing side jobs and making the same amount of money 10 hours a week opposed to 40. Personally I'd rather just not go but I owe it to him for trying to get me some work. Its the effort that counts right?
UPDATE:
I called them and told them I wasn't interested. Now John is throwing a bitch fit and not talking to me. Fuck em.

I thought maybe the job was just for a day, but it sounds like it is a long term thing.
