Darkness

There was darkness and a shattered heart
It seemed as though no light could reach these depths
Then when it was least expected out of nowhere came
A light like no other
So bright and pure
It chased the darkness away and
Collected the pieces of the shattered heart and put them back together
There was no darkness and the heart beat stronger than ever before
But something is wrong the light is fading
The darkness is returning, the heart growing cold
If the light goes completely
There will be no return
This time.
