I finally ended up getting a new job. I am working for a company that does retail store resets overnights. It is not a bad gig it is 40 hours a week, and I can still work demolition during the days so I can keep the cash flow high.
On a shittier note I was in Fox River Grove heading eastbound on Rt. 14 at the intersection with Lincoln waiting for the stop light to turn green listening to Story Of My Life by Social Distortion. I looked in my rear view mirror and watched as the car behind me did not even slow down as it plowed into my car which in turn sent me into the vehicle in front of me... The guy who hit me was doing 40+ and never touched his brakes his airbags deployed, and mine did not... he was looking for a CD...
I came out of it all and all okay. My back was a bit fucked up though.
Then there is the car. The entire front clip was wrecked (Both headlights and fog lamps, the grill, and bumper) My driver side door became misaligned, and would not close properly. BOTH of my rear frame rails were dislodged and driven up through the trunk body. The trunk lid was misaligned and would not close. The rear bumper and exhaust / tips were wrecked.
According to the body shop over 75% of the vehicle was destroyed... and for whatever D-Bag reason they are repairing the car not totaling it. So for the next month plus instead of driving a cherry 2004 Chevrolet Impala SS with a modified exhaust, smaller supercharger pulley, throttle spacer, and FIPK cold air intake; I am driving a piece of shit 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt.
I wish they would have just cut me a check so I could get a suitable replacement car not repair a car that has not only been in a collision that ruined the back end and front end, but earlier in the year was side swiped.
I found a gorgeous 1987 Buick Grand National that I could have afforded me if they would have given me the check... oh well...
