Have the new apartment all painted (well, almost all, one room needs another coat) and will hopefully get moved in tomorrow. Still need to figure out the internet thing there since nothing is hooked up yet, and have to go get the utilities all switched over to our name, but other than that, it's all set! I love it. It's right downtown. The now ex is unfortunately living right beneath us (this was planned before he decided to try to get in bed with one of my friends and lie to me about it) and I can hear his poor puppy crying all day as she sits neglected in her carrier. That part is starting to bother me, but other than that I'm very excited to be moving.
It will be good to be out of this house. Every time I get lonely late at night I think about going to his room to cuddle and watch a movie or something, and then remember it's just an empty, dusty room now. It's like a piece is missing. I'm still so angry at him, and I do NOT want him back in my life, but he certainly took a piece of me with him. I guess that, when it comes to hurting me, he saved the worst for last.
In other news, this bit somewhat depressing and somewhat just sickeningly amusing, I got word today that my book will not be published (not by this company at least), even though they love the idea and the art. The publishing company apparently, for some reason, is afraid of being sued by Disney. Apparently, Disney has rights to all the fairy tales they've ripped off over the years.....
