Well, it's been a wonderful weekend. It, of course, got way to cold for the beach immediatly after school let out for spring break. It went from mid to high 80's outside to highs of 55 degrees almost over night.
My cousin, the first non-immediate family to feel like actually visiting me got robbed right in front of my house through a combination of bad luck, bad timing and a stupid act on her part. She's made it very clear she's never coming to Savannah again.
On the bright side, my parents are paying to have the yard fenced in and a much heavier duty alarm system installed. The cop told my cousin that the guy was most likely waiting between my house and the nieghbor's because it's the only non-fenced area on my block. Sure enough, her purse had been gone through and was discarded in the alley behind our house.
We're also getting a dog at police and security system people's recommendation. My kitty is terribly unhappy with me right now because apparently I smell like puppies. I went out to the animal shelter to look with Cal this afternoon, but they didn't have any that looked promising. Because of insurance it would need to be a smaller dog, probably no larger than 35 lbs. full grown. The guys are happy, but I don't know. I guess I'm ok with it since most of the breeds that make me most uncomfortable are to big for us to get. I've found a few on PetFinder.com that I think will work. A local pet rescue was some tiny spaniel mix puppies that I like and there's a rescue up in Augusta that has some Beagle mix babies that might work. Also found an adorable little one in Douglas, Georgia (don't actually know where that is) that they have no clue what breed she is, but even I think she's cute. We are probably going to end up with one of the spaniels from here unless he's too hyper. He's the right size and is used to being around a bunch of cats so I think he would adjust well to our resident princess and ruler of the house.
I think our little five pound terror of a kitten is going to be about the worst stumbling block for us trying to get a dog. For all her love of people she doesn't care much for other animals.

aaaaany who. No I'm not obligated to these people at all. Beyond the standard two weeks. Which if I played it right I could get out of. Basically if I give them an ultimatum, they'll fire me. Bye bye two weeks notice!
Sorry you live in a hot-bed of crime...
But I definately recommend watching The dog whisperer. A totally stupid name for a show about how dog owners create the problems they have with their dogs, and how they can usually be solved fairly quickly.

And if I was looking all dorky or something we will pretend it was my twin that doesn't exsist
