There have been a couple of big events in the past 2 weeks that I think are definitely worth writing about. I guess that's the benefit of not blogging on a regular basis, when I do write it's about something major and people will hopefully be interested.
First off, I'm no longer unemployed! I have a job with ITV northwest, this little half hour show with local artists that gets broadcast on Fox affiliates here in Washington. I'm going to be doing a lot with them, but primarily I will be an editor. The best thing about this job is that I will also get experience on the set. I will be trained to work with audio and with the camera as well. it's going to be great experience. The only bad thing is that it's only a part-time thing. I still need to look for another job so I can continue eating and such, but it's fine, now that I have a job that's actually going to benefit my resume I can just take a job anywhere. The next one I'm offered, which may include 2 things.
I have my resume in at the Mariner's Ballpark and at The Old Spaghetti Factory. Tomorrow I find out about both. If I get a job for the Mariner's I will be working with the Nintendo Kiosk. They'd have me watching over the systems and fixing them when something went wrong. Not bad, I'd be working on game days only so it wouldn't conflict with ITV. The job at the spaghetti factory would be a host position. I'd get more hours than I would at the Ballpark but I don't think it would be as much fun. Oh well, we'll see what happens.
In my personal life, my hard drive crashed on friday. It really sucked but I called apple and told the my serial number and they said the warranty would cover it. So, I basically have a brand new computer. Most people I told were actually surprised by me because I had everything backed up. All my music, my photos, important word documents and things like that, all backed up. So now I just have to bring the thing back to life, but it's not going to take long. It's actually kind of funny how it worked out because I got an upgrade when they gave me a new upgrade, now I'm running leopard. Before the crash I still ad OSX 10.4. It works for me! Take care guys, thanks for reading!

i think your computer failure story is the first i've read with a happy ending. i'm glad you had everything backed up! and now you get leopard...i'm almost jealous!
and congrats on the crew position! i've done some in-studio tv production and it's a lot of fun. i'm sure yours will be on a much bigger scale, though. and who knows, maybe they'll decide to keep you part time, or maybe you'll get to do some field shoots.
