I said I would give some updates after the party last night, so here they are. I cam in second place with the betting pool. It was a gentleman's bet so I didn't lose anything but it's the second year in a row I've lost to Jeremy. Oh well, I got 13 out of 28 right, and he got 15 right. I was wrong with best actor. I'm glad Sean Penn got the oscar, I think he deserved it but I thought hollywood was going to go for the comeback story and give it to Rourke. I'm glad to see they went with acting versus trials in personal life, since after all, it is the oscars. I knew Ledger had it, I knew Winslet had it and I knew Slumdog was going to win. I knew the film that wins best picture usually also gets the best director award but I decided to gamble on that fact. I chose Milk to win for best director and I lost that one. I also underestimated Benjamin Button. It took a lot of awards away from The Dark Knight. I didn't see that one coming. At the end of the show I was a little disappointed with the results, but it all had to do with The Dark Knight, I think Nolan should have been nominated for director.
In matters that actually affect me, I have an interview to take this week. If I get the job I'll be working a crew position with ITV Northwest. I don't know specifically when I'll find out if I have a job or not, but here's hoping!
