This week was another average one in the life of an english major but I decided to be a slacker instead of keeping up with the reading. Not that the assignments were bad, it could be worse than having to read "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead" but I was just burned out from the previous week. I wrote on Monday, then Tuesday of course was election day. I went to an election party and after they called Obama the new President-Elect We all went out to the bars of Capitol Hill to celebrate. Many people shared our idea and the streets were filled with hundreds of people cheering, hugging, drinking, and singing together. The cops came but not one of them stopped us. They just sat in their cars and blocked cars from coming our way. I was out there with friends until 1am but my co-worker told me that the party didn't stop until 6am. That was the most fun i've had in a long time. People were hanging from street lights waving Obama flags, everyone was chanting and someone even brought over a Sarah Palin cardboard cutout that ended up getting trashed and trampled. The next day I didn't do any work, I went to classes but when I got home I proceeded to waste my time in front of the Nintendo Wii playing the NES zelda game. That feature where you can download classic games will be a welcome distraction while I'm job searching over the next few weeks. Thursday is 7.50 movies for students so I took Jenn to go see "Zack and Miri make a porno." I try to see Kevin Smith's films when they're in theaters and I was not disappointed with this one. I thought the dialog was hilarious and Rogen and Banks both did great jobs in their roles. All the actors were pretty funny, come to think of it. It's been a laid back weekend so far, and if I can get one of my friends to tag along with me I'll head to the Danzig show on the other side of town tonight. Thanks for reading!
