Last weekend I saw Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, and Dave Chappelle at the Comedy Festival in Las Vegas. I came within ten feet of meeting them, but a security guard told me I had to go because the show had ended. Dammit!

I did get to thank an old veteran comedian for all the years he'd made me laugh (Thomas Lennon). You may know him as Jimmy Dangle from Reno 911. It's a very satisfying feeling expressing gratitude to a person who's made you laugh for so many years . You can finally return the favor in a small way by saying how appreciated they are.

Dave Chappelle did an hour long show. His rapport with the audience is amazing. In person he is extremely likeable, and sitting in the audience you feel like one of his confidants. He made many rebuttals against the rumors floating around regarding his sudden dissapearence to Africa. The guy also seems a little spooked by his meteoric rise to fame. He had to ask the audience to stop taking so many pictures and he chain smoked through most of his act.

In summary, this was perhaps the coolest weekend of my life, seeing most of my comedic idols all at once. Ahhh, sweet inspiration.
