Alright! I'm back again. I spent six days with my nephew to give his mom a break. We had a blast!
Wednesday: His mom drove him over from Saline, MI and we met up at Binder Park Zoo to go through it, but it closed at 5pm!! What's up with that? Five O'Clock!!?? Give me a break. Anyways, we grabbed his stuff and loaded into my "junky old car" as he put it, (it's a 1967 Mercury Cougar) and headed out. We stopped at McDonalds for some health food and then went to the late showing of The Fantastic Four.
Thursday: Got up and we died his hair blue (because he wanted to do something that would freak his mom out). Went back to the zoo, this time when they were open.
We got his face painted.
We went out to the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary after lunch and then rented some movies for the evening.
Friday: We got up "early". Ten year old boys don't like to get up in the morning. I ended up dripping water over him and then stuffing an ice pack from the freezer down his pants. It was a great motivator! We went out to Michigan's Adventure for the day, rode all the roller coasters (it was the first time he ever went on an upside down one) and spent a lot of time at the water park ogling all the young hotties in bikini's. I bought us a couple of those waterproof disposable cameras and we took a ton of pictures going down the rides that I still have to get developed.
Saturday: I had to "work" out at the Drop Zone most of the day so I got him an observer ride in one of the planes. We went up and I sat him next to the door and he got a plane ride up to 10'000 feet and then got to watch as the two other jumpers exited out. On the way back down, I had the pilot do a couple of zero gravity dives to spice things up. He helped out around the DZ for the rest of the day while I jumped tandems. We got back home and started to watch the other movie we rented but we both fell asleep in the middle of it.
Sunday: Same as Saturday pretty much. I jumped tandems all day so I gave my camera to Evan and he spent the day taking pictures of all the canopies coming down. We had pizza for dinner.
Monday: Time for him to head home. We went out and played miniature golf in the morning to kill some time and then a friend of mine picked us up and we headed down to the Battle Creek airport. He is a part owner in an airplane so to take my nephew home we flew him.
The End.
