WHAT A BUSY BUSY WEEK
Well, I know I have not updated this in a while, because of how busy things have been... I was out doing field work for 2 weeks, then my girl flew in from Germany, and then it was my last day at work yesterday (Thursday). Wednesday night went down to the city to check out my favorite band, Burning Spear..... for some rock roots reggae... The Thursday night, we went to Fairfield CT, to check out Dashboard Confessional - another old time fav for me... It was interesting going to 2 completley different types of show in two nights.... One night we are puffing Js with the rastas, and the next time getting squeezed like cattle by a bunch of 16-18 year old girls, who melt over the lead singer of Dash... My girl did not like spear, because she is not a reggae fan, and spear is very roots reggae, not your typical top 40 Marley shit.... but Dashboard made it up to her the next night..... What show was better you ask, since I am a fan of both.... Burning Spear by far, because of the crowd. I wanted to kill half the people at the Dash show, because they are pushing and shoving to get close, like it makes any difference. At Spear, the vibe was much more relazed and chill, probably beccause of the excess of weed being smoked, where at dash, the crowd was more angry and pushy.......... Here are some pix..... anway, no more work for me until I start in Germany... I have 3 1/2 more weeks left in America, and I am going to be doing nothing but packing.
