I CLIMBED A FUCKING MOUNTAIN YESTERDAY
ok, well me and like 12 other friends all hiked up to this beloved local "hill" with two trees suitably named Two Trees. some of are clearly in waaayyyyy better shape than others. i am miserably out of shape..... now i knew this was gonna be a fairly intense hike, but i and half of us really had no idea what we were getting into. we took the longest and possibly most brutal way to the top. it was like 6 miles of hike and a great deal of it was scaling up a hillside of what was prolly like a 70% grade. the way was littered with cows and incredible views. me and a couple other people very nearly gave up about halfway up but after a long break, couple bowl hits, and a discussion of how awful this was, we decided to keep going. we stragglers realized our other friends were way ahead of us and we felt totally lost. we kept hiking up and up and up and every time we thought we were coming to a plateau, we would see more hill up above. it fucking sucked, like really really really badly. but somehow, we made it. i made it to the top of two trees!
it was fucking incredible. absolutely gorgeous. and sooooooo windy. the group was all up there and we rejoiced together, snapping pics, and sharing stories. THEN we had to go down..... ok, so i don't know if you know this but i have a sever fear of falling and walking down steep hills scares the shit out of me. luckily we had a much shorter hike down to where we started but at the rate of which i was inching down the hill, i thought i would be there forever. we only had 40 min to get to the cars as night was falling fast and we were all parked in a park that closed its gates at dusk. (it took me like 3 hours to climb to the top) my friend happened to have found a great walking stick and he gave it to me to walk down. that stick saved my life!!! i kept it, i'm gonna tie shit to it and it's totally going to ren fair with me. oh, i also found this high voltage sign (it's now taped to my bed's headboard) and we came across a pile of old cow bones and i really wish i kept one of them. so anyways, we all made it down to our cars after the sun had set. i had been hiking much of the way with a guy who was in as bad of shape as me apparently, we hardly knew eachother before this but now i think we shall become good friends lol and yea, anyways, we decided that what we all needed now was a trip to my jacuzzi. at the cars, i shouted cuzzi time and found out they had all been thinking burger and beer time. we made a fantastic compromise and went to the anacapa brewing company (only a few of us) and had some cold brews and tasty noms. later a large group of us (some who didn't hike) met up at my jacuzzi and relaxed to the max. it was a fine fine day. despite that fact that that was the most brutal hike, it left me feeling better than i have ever felt. totally high on life, shall we say. it was such an awesome experience and im so fucking glad i did it
