This is a retro trancy/housy ode to nintendo era music.
Haha, ok so everyone hates underground hip hop, i'll be careful with posting more recordings/productions of that discipline. On a good note, I spent that whole weekend learning to use my friends Axion 25 (2nd gen) midi sampler/sound board.
I hooked it up to my PC with the USB digital MIDI in/MIDI out controller and loaded up the drivers in fruity loops to mess with it. You can link every element of control and samles from the software directly to the board. That meant plugins with modulation, channel setting, and synthetic keyboard riffs are a breeze cause you can do it so much qucker. I need to take Piano classes now to be better.
Anyway, the main track was produced by using synth channels, samples, key/tempo changes and lucky layering. I put that main beat into a sample channel so I could fuck with it while I recorded it. A lot of the extra stuff you hear in it is done all on the fly.
I recorded this for my friend who owned the board but never learned to use it, so the free software shit and the fucked up kick overs are excusable (I djed for 5 years but never messed with a midi samplers controls).
