Fucken lawyers!!!
If some of you don't know, I have been in an on going battle with the Texas legal system. Here's the jist....
I was arrested over 8 months ago now, and the reason I was stop was because I was... yes you guessed it speeding. Now I know what your saying no, no way not our little sweet Spadez, he's such a good kid and wouldn't never break any laws! Well truth be told I am a lead foot, yup I like two go really fast and I like to do it with my windows down. That's poor mans air condition, which is something you get used to doing when you own a 51 year old car.
Back to my point though I was pulled over for speeding and the cop ran my records. Seems that there was a fuck up on APD's behalf which came to my eventual arrest at that very moment. You see someone over there fucked up and didn't write on my last speeding ticket that I showed proof of insurance. Which in the state of texas if your stopped with two non proof of insurance your license becomes suspended.
So yeah that was the second time that happend and this time it got me arrested. Now after about 16hours in jail I was released on personal bond which means I pay 20 bucks to get out. Cool deal, but what sucks about that is that I got out so late in the evening that I couldn't get my car out of impound until the next day. So I spent 200 dollars to get my car out of the pound.
Now I am thinking that I am a smart guy I'll fix this myself. I proceeded for the next couple of days to round up all my old insurance cards and get all the numbers to all the old insurance agencies I have been with for the past few years. Three of them I called and got letters stating that I was insured with their company for some amount of time with no lapse in coverage. Two of those overlapped by 3 weeks. In total those letters covered 3 fucking years of insurance without one days lapse in coverage. Sounds like I have all that I needed to win this battle in court right?
Wrong! Why you ask? I'll tell you...
I got to court the first day and the judge calls me to the bench. Here's how it goes....
"Good afternoon your Honor..." I said graciously because I tought it would be a nice thing for her to hear since she's been so busy going through each persons case. Most of the non english speaking hispanics or black men with big attitudes and small minds.
Don't get me wrong I am not racist but all these fuckers deserved to be there and wait to see the judge. Thieves, vandals, drunks and brawlers. I looked like Mary Fucking Poppins compaired to these fools and yet I was one of the last few sitting there at 1:30pm after being told that I had to be there by 8:00am or they would consider it a now show and I would have a warrent put out for my arrest.
... "thanks for getting to me so quickly"...
She's brutally interupts me and says... "Hold on, where's your attorney!!!"
... "umm, I haven't got one but I have the evidence to"...
She glares and barks out again interupting... "You haven't got one!?!?"
..."Um, no but"...
And with a final huff, "You sir have thirty days to get one"...
..."But I can clear myself now I have the....
Now the baliff grabs me by the arm and says... "This way sir"
And I turn to walk out of the court room after him.
I hired an attorney that same day, and after him not showing up to court for the first three appearnces that he set I finally cornered him in his office and got him to show up at the next appearnce date.
So now today after talking to him he has told me that I need to pay the speeding ticket off. Which I took defensive driving for as we previously agreed upon doing after we last spoke. I tell him this he says he'll call me back. His return call he says, "I told you to pay the ticket". I dissagreed and then asked what paying a speeding ticket had to do with an no insurance arrest he said he'd call me back....
I am still waiting for answer and that was 1:00pm today he talked to me last....
