I also get a haircut today. First one in over a year. Finally; I was starting to look like a yeti. I went to a new place, more upscale than the place I used to go to back before I was gainfully employed. My old hair joint charged $13 for a cut, and while it did the trick, it looked like a $13 cut. No wash and no blow-dry. This place charged a baseline $30 for a wash, cut, blow-dry, and even a flat ironing, if you want it. Worth it? You\'d better believe it. I can finally stow away all of my hair-bands and clips for awhile. She only cut off about six inches, but I feel ten pounds lighter. Ten pounds of dead, cruddy, dry hair lighter.
I felt a bit guilty while I was getting the cut, though. The woman cutting my hair, Beni, is a fairly short woman. I\'m a fairly tall woman with really long hair. She had to keep moving the chair up and down like a freakin\' carousel horse because her reach wasn\'t enough to get at my hair when she held it up to trim the ends. It was fairly amusing, though, because thew more she cut, the more she pushed to the front, and the more dark, wet hair fell over my face. Near the end, I looked like Samara, fresh from the well.
I kept wanting to apologize and I almost suggested she get a step stool. Not to mention, my hair kept getting stuck in her watch. Ow, thanks.
