well, work didn't go how i thought it would...
...i was told, by my BOSS no less, that i was expected to be at the teaching site at eleven this mornin'...so my co-teacher 'n' i were under the same impression (since my boss phoned him after he'd called me) and we got to the office on time 'n' got everything ready...things were goin' alright, but we were advised to take so many animals 'n' expected to do a project w/the kids on top of that...we had too many animals to begin w/ (we hadda take 7) 'n' the project would've taken much longer than my boss thought...so we get to the teaching site, me 'n' my co-worker frank, only to have the teacher at the place tell us we were too late
him 'n' i just kinda looked at each other 'n' muttered a collective "uhh..." and then we'd phoned our boss...now, my boss called me yesterday to try 'n' give us a run-through on what we should do 'n' how to keep the kids entertained...he was only focused on gettin' the teachin' info to us (since it would, in essence, be our first class solo: we're both assistant teachers 'n' this was more like a co-lead teacher thing) and not too concerned w/the timing, so it seemed...otherwise, he would've been much more on top of things (like bosses usually are)...so we phone him after the initial shock of "wtf do we do now?!?" 'n' we'd gotten rescheduled to do a 1/2 hour presentation w/just the animals...which was fine for me b/c no matter how i love to get down 'n' dirty w/the kids durin' project time, i'd rather focus on one or the other...
...so we do our 1/2 hour stint, which went well if it weren't for our burmese python scarin' the buhjeezus outta this poor little girl, and kinda mulled the whole affair over on the drive back...i'm sittin' here now just takin' a breather b/c i know there's a "talk" comin' our way...i feel bad b/c i think, in some way, we made our schedulin' person (jessica) look bad, but it wasn't totally our fault...i'm just gonna blame this on our boss, b/c both of us were misinformed by him...always trust jessica over our boss anyday ::shaking head::
on the upside, when i've got time, i might be takin' guitar lessons from frank...he teaches 'n' he charges a pretty reasonable rate (good enough for my pocketbook) 'n' he's really laid back...sweet soul, quiet demeanor...good w/gettin' kids to sit down 'n' shaddup
i'll see how that goes, though...it's just an idea at the moment...
