I'm going to see System of a Down and the Mars volta this thursday and going back to San Antonio to visit on Friday. I'm pretty excited about both of these things.
On the dating front, nothing is happening. The chicks I dig are unavailable and I can't relate to 3/4 of the rest of the people out there. It's hard to meet people when you can't stand most of them.

i'm running 2 dual G5s (one 3d/compositing, one editing), a G4 (leftover from my old gear, acts as fileserver and photoshop station if other towers are busy) and the mid-level pc (also a leftover from my old setup). totally agree on the laptop. mine's a 17" powerbook that's a mirror of the compositing station. all tucked away in my basement. i have regular people i bring in for bigger jobs, and it can get a little cozy with 2 more people down here.
totally agree. lightwave on mac completely sucks. won't go near it. honestly, the best 3D tool i've come across for everyday work and assimilation with AE is C4D. I love it. I use Maya for really critical or detailed stuff, but my daily tool is C4D. plus in relative terms its fairly cheap. haven't used xsi, but it seems to be well regarded by it's users. maybe i'll see if there's a demo and give it a try. can't wait to get my hands on 3DS Max, though. They were just introducing it when i was leaving CTV, so i barely had a taste.
