Can't believe I've not updated for a few weeks now.... guess that's what happens when one goes on vacation and doesn't even look at a computer the whole time.
The trip to the Outer Banks was fantastic! Rented the same house as last year only it had been remodeled, and the work they had done really blew me away. I didn't recognize the first two floors of the place nor would I have even realized it was the same house from the outside if I wasn't expecting the remodel. We also moved our trip forward a few weeks and had much warmer weather. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't "cold" last year but it was a lot warmer and we used the pool a whole lot more.
The cherry on top of my vacation happened the day before we went.... Rod Pelley, number 10, for the Devils came to my office to hand deliver my season tickets. He was a very genuine, laid back guy. Was more than happy to shoot the breeze with me & some of my coworkers, took a bunch of group photos, even signed the pucks I had bought a few weeks earlier. I didn't notice at first, but the jersey he was wearing was #1 rather than 10. I asked him if he had changed his number, and with a toothless smile he says, no this is for you and takes off the jersey. Turns it around so I can see the back and it's got my last name on it. So of course I got him to sign that sucker too. So I've now got a player signed, authentic Devils jersey. Thinking about getting it, along with one of the pucks, a picture or two and the season ticket book (without the tickets of course) framed. Would be a kinda cool think to hang up in the house with some of my other cool Devils stuff.
Well, gonna end this for now. Need to see about posting some of the vacation pics and here's one from Rod's visit.
