Happy Thursday!! This week has been fairly slow, so not a whole lot to report. Monday was school then out for drinks with the boys!!
Tuesday night was sort of a date night I guess....we went to dinner, then to the Charlotte Bobcats game....Then out for drinks afterward!!
Then last night some friends and mine just hung out, watched the Charlotte 49ers game, and just hung out basically. Tonight is volleyball, and the male spectator....
Then this weekend is packed!!
My brother called me the other day to get the awards that I won for sports back when I was in high school. Now this is a strange request, but he's a little odd, so I didn't think anything of it, and pulled out the old clippings. I found out that my high school is doing a "Sports Hall of Fame" and he is nominating me (and my sister) for it. But that's beside the point. I found my "Senior Memory Book" (an English Project I thoroughly enjoyed) and thought it would be fun to post what I thought about myself at age 17...It's amazing how little things have changed in almost 7 years .....so here goes (some of the names have been removed to protect the innocent):
My name is X and I am 17 years old. I was born August 23, 1981 in Waynesboro Hospital. I live in Virginia with my mother, my sister at some times, and my two dogs. My sister is currently attending Longwood College, so she is only home some weekends and holidays.
I am a multi-faceted person posessing many different characteristics which make up the total me. My most prevelant qualities are I am friendly, athletic, and caring.
I am a very friendly, happy-go-lucky girl. I try my best to always be in a good mood, and to keep my friends in a good mood. When they are down, I always try to pick them up. I have been known to walk around the school and put stickers on random people just to make them smile.
Sports have been a very big part of my life since the time I was 5 years old, when I started playing basketball. I played at the Waynesboro YMCA on teh co-ed league, girl's league, and summer league teams. Since I have been in the eighth grade, I have been on at least two of Wilson (my high school)'s teams. In eighth grade, I played Junior Varsity Basketball and Volleyball, and Babe Ruth Softball. My freshman year, I played Junior Varsity Basketball, Varsity Volleyball and Varsity Softball. In my Sophomore, Junior and Senior Years, I played Varsity Basketball and Volleyball. I threw Shot Put and Discus and competed in the Triple Jump for the Varsity Track team my Junior year, and will again this year. I played Varsity Softball my Freshman, Sophomore and Junior Years, but have decided not to play this year. I instead have decided to play soccer, which I am enjoying very much.
I also posses the quality of being a very caring person. I am known to my friends as someone who they can always come to when they have a problem. I always try to help out as much as I can without becoming too nosy. I always keep my friends' secrets (except once my freshman year, which I regret) and do everything I can to help them.
In my last semester of high school, I expect to have great success. I hope to maintain a GPA of at least 3.5. By achieving this, it will help me learn many things to help me succeed in life. I plan to attend East Tennessee State University to play volleyball, and major in Chemistry. After I graduate college, I will either attend Pharmacy School, or work in Forensic Science.
After college, I hope to find the "man of my dreams." I hope to marry him and live a wonderful life with several children. If mine and my husband's careers allow us to make a large amount of money, I hope to have between 3 and 5 children. If we do not make as much, I hope to have as many children as we can afford comfortably.
I plan to live a happy, healthy and productive life. I want to teach my children to have respect for themselves and others. I want my children ot grow up to do whatever they choose. I would love for my children to follow in my athletic footsteps, but if they choose not to, I will support them 150% in whatever they choose to do. I want to have a life which will fulfill all of mine, my future husband's and my future children's dreams.
