It's been a while since I've been inspired. I mean, really inspired. As in, oh shit I love that I need more of it I need to do something with that right now! kind of inspired. I used to feel that way every time I read Juxtapoz but now... nothing. Even pictures of Vivienne Westwood or Johnny Rotten leave me kinda bored. It didn't used to be like this.
I did finally get a breath of inspiration two days ago. I was watching the trailer for Banksy's new movie "Exit through the gift shop" and there were a lot of clips of graffiti artists doing their thing, then artists being chased by cops, and the last clip was an artist running from a couple cops, running up a wall, jumping onto the roof of a building, and getting away while the cop just jumped up and down like he was trying to catch the kid's ankle. Phenomenal. I have heard about Parkour before, and I started vigorously looking up pictures and video clips and articles just a little faster than I could possibly digest them. I happened across an article featuring a Parkour group in Madison and I thought, no fucking way. I had no idea. And they meet at a gym just six blocks away from my house.
Chalk it up to one more class I am going to start taking this summer, alongside belly dancing and aikido. But I don't think I can wait that long. If I can possibly get enough homework done by Tuesday I am going on Tuesday night. Right after I buy running shoes. Who would have guessed I would ever buy running shoes?
