Kick-ass news: I am moving to New York!
I got my official acceptance letter from FIT in the mail today. After kicking my ass in Madison for three years, building my portfolio and rockin' out a 3.5 GPA, I have been accepted to spent my senior year studying in Manhattan. How fucking sweet is that?
My platonic soul-mate Matt is going to move with me cause, you know, why not? We're going to roadtrip out over Spring Break to look for apartments, check out the neighborhoods, get used to the city. Just for a few days. But we are going to be so aimless! Neither of us knows anything about New York. I am pretty sure we would be happy in Brooklyn and rent seems reasonable there, judging by Craigslist. But beyond that we will be blind and stumbling. Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone in the city want to take us out, show us what we need to know about your glorious metropolis?

when i moved back, i found a place at the top of the island called Inwood. Its basically the same rent as brooklyn but still manhattan. you can get an A train right down to FIT area. The only problem there is basically nothing up there but residents and a few shitty dollar stores. so yeah, move to brooklyn.
