You know, for a long time I was mad at Tulane, and I was mad at Katrina, because they took away the New Orleans I knew and was starting to love. But I've found it again. To anyone in this general area who may be interested in a bar that's not a bar, I recommend the Neutral Ground. My boyfriend and I went last night, open-mic night. Got to meet some of the local talent, the bartender (coffee-guy, whatever) was really friendly, and we got handed business cards by some casting associate from ABC looking for singers for some show. Funny how she left right before the most talented guys got up there One of them's doing a show tonight too, but I can't go, for I have a physics final in the morning. What a shame.
Mike is convinced that if we start practicing now we can go up for open mic night in about a year. I say that's still stretching it, since he can't play guitar and though I may be a capable singer, I have awful, horrible stage fright. Blah. But we can try. And if nothing else, we'll have lots of fun weekends together sounding horrible for just us.
In other news, Hedwig and the Angry Inch makes me happy.
